Hallways of Time — the Meta Quest app, and the museum and timeline on the web · effective 22 September 2026
Hallways of Time is a museum of the history of the universe, from the Big Bang to the present day. We built it to be looked at, not to watch you. This page says plainly what it does and does not do with information about you.
The Meta Quest app
- We collect nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
- It makes no internet connection. Every picture, word and piece of music is inside the app, and the app does not ask Android for permission to use the internet, the microphone, the cameras, eye tracking or anything else beyond what every Quest app needs to draw in the headset.
- Your settings stay on your headset. Walking speed, turning, the music you chose and the other settings are saved in the app's own storage on the headset so they are there next time. They never leave the headset, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
- Head and controller movement is used only while you are in the app, to draw the museum from where you are and to let you point at things. It is not recorded or kept.
The website
- The website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking.
- Your settings (walking speed, turning, image quality) are kept in your browser's local storage, and the museum's files may be kept in your browser's cache so it works offline. Both stay on your device; clearing your browser's site data removes them.
- The photographs on the exhibits are loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). As with any website, Wikimedia's servers receive your IP address and browser details when they send a picture; the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy covers that.
- The site is served by GitHub Pages, which, like any host, may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running; GitHub's privacy statement covers those. We do not see them, and nothing is passed to us.
Meta
If you get the app from the Meta Horizon Store, Meta handles the purchase, your Meta account and the store itself under Meta's own privacy policy. Hallways of Time receives nothing about you from Meta.
Children
The museum is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, children included.
Deleting your data, and questions
There is no data about you for us to delete: uninstalling the app, or clearing this website's data in your browser, removes everything the museum ever kept. If you have a question about privacy, or want us to confirm that we hold nothing about you, write to us at o.rehman.1997@gmail.com, with Halls of Time as the subject, and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
If what the museum does with information ever changes, this page will change first, with a new effective date at the top.
